Kenya remains hopeful about its trade relationship with the US despite the return of former President Donald Trump. Officials believe the change in administration won’t affect ongoing Strategic Trade and Investment Partnership (STIP) talks, aimed at strengthening bilateral trade. Trade PS Alfred K’Ombudo highlighted bipartisan support for economic ties. Initiated in 2020 under Trump and former President Kenyatta, the talks have reached their eighth round. Kenya aims to secure 5% of the US market, potentially generating over Sh2 trillion in annual exports.
