CBK Welcomes New Members to Monetary Policy Committee
The MPC plays a key role in maintaining price stability by aligning the money supply with Kenya’s economic goals.
The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) has appointed four new external members to its Monetary Policy Committee (MPC): Dr. Kemboi Kipruto, Isis Nyong’o, Jared Osoro, and Dr. Freshia Mugo. This follows delays after the previous members’ terms ended in August 2024.
The appointments come ahead of the MPC’s final meeting of 2024, scheduled for December 5. The MPC plays a key role in maintaining price stability by aligning the money supply with Kenya’s economic goals.
The committee includes the CBK Governor, Deputy Governor, Treasury Principal Secretary, and four external experts, ensuring balanced monetary policy decisions.
